What is a persona?
A persona is a user classification, such as Buyer or Champion, that you’ve defined based on key actions (e.g. viewed pricing page) or data points (e.g. the user’s job title, a field in Salesforce, etc). Below are three common example personas:
Persona | Example |
Buyer | A user that is a known buyer or is behaving like someone likely to buy |
Champion | A user who is helping bring other users into your product (e.g. inviting, sharing) |
Power User | A user with consistent, high usage of key features |
Within Endgame, you can create and define as many personas as you like.
How to configure personas
- On the left sidebar of Endgame, click Settings & administration.
- At the top of the page, click into the Personas tab.
- If you already have personas configured, you may adjust, delete, or add filters on this page. You can also click Delete to delete a persona entirely.
- Let’s create a new persona together. To do this, click + Add Persona at the bottom-left.
- Give your new persona a name (e.g. Power User)
- For this example, let’s define a power user as any user that takes 50 or more actions — any action within your product — within the last 30 days. Click Add Filter, type in “Activity”, then select Activity.
- Change “is” to “greater than” then for the amount, type in 50 and press enter.
- Click Save.
Personas is a new feature rolling out in May 2023. If you don’t yet see the Personas tab within Settings & administration, contact your Endgame rep or success@endgame.io for help getting set up.
It may take up to one hour for this new persona (and subsequent updates to it) to fully propagate for use across Endgame.
